The GARDENA Universal Axe 1400 A is made for limbing and splitting resinous wood, felling small trees and removing roots thanks to its fit-for-the-job head and blade design. The centre of gravity is close to the axe head, meaning the axe is well balanced which optimises striking power due to the correct weight distribution. For extra strength and durability the head handle attachment is break-proof, so that it is always possible to chop confidently. Working on large logs by driving wedges of wood, plastic or aluminium wedges (no steel wedges) into the log is simple with the help of the Universal Axes's hammer function. Thanks to the riveted stainless steel impact protection, it does not damage the handle if a blow should miss. When working with wood, the hardened and robust blade made of premium tool steel always achieves reliable results. This is due to the special blade coating, which reduces friction and helps get good penetration into the wood. The coating means that wood resins do not stick to the blade easily. Comfortable handling is created by the glass-fibre reinforced plastic handle. The soft grip on the handle and the hook-shaped handle end (cow's foot) contribute to the safety and good feel, as they make the axe comfortable and firm in the hands and minimise the risk of the axe slipping away from the hand.
